When I was about 12 or so I started listening to rap music. I'm not quite sure which rap album I heard first, but I do remember the first one I bought. It was the Beastie Boys' License to Ill. You know the one.
Not to change gears or anything, but I really want to talk about Liquid Swords by GZA produced by RZA. It seriously from front to back is one the best audio recordings of all time. At the Wu-Tang concert I attended while I was in high school at a small bar in Mobile, Alabama (I know, right?), GZA did not look happy to be there. So I have seen GZA with my own eyes and he really does exist.
