Lean

Today I saw John David walking on Thatch. John and I were going to the bank.

Today is lean day, and basically what that means is John and I will now try to be Lil Wayne throughout the day as best we can.

I'll update this post throughout the day.

ustream.tv

Last night, Mook, Knuck, Slim and myself were all going live on ustream when suddenly our viewers shot up. It was almost as if 24 people joined instantly. We later learned 50 Cent tweeted about our session, and further more said Mook and Knuck "looked like some models." Awesome

Saturday

I haven't blogged. I've been sleeping entire days off the calendar. I have some hope that Friday I will meet some exciting new people.

I've been hanging out with Mook. There's this amazing device called the webcam, and if you have it, you can broadcast your face all over the internet and people can see you. That's what we've been doing. It's called uStream.tv or whatever.

I have a friend who wants to hang out with me, but lower in the food chain than I am. It's not that I don't want to hang out with him, but when I do, I feel as if I'm doing the absolute least a pair of humans can do to accomplish something.

So in short I don't want to hang out with him but he's always calling me.

Windows 7 on a Macintosh

It's cool, it works. I've got a copy of Windows 7 and am running it on my Macbook. It's awesome because I can run my favorite windows programs such as Soulseek.

Anyways, enough about that. Let's talk about my sleep schedule. It's not very good. White kids my age all over the country are dreading the 8:00am classes they have to wake up for in a couple of hours, but I'm not. I'm making coffee, blogging, cooking and will eventually organize all my seasonal vinyl into boxes and have them put away into storage.

Is this something I do on a daily basis? Do I find fun in cataloguing vinyl? No. Hell no. But it's something that must be done. In fact, while I was out today hunting for cardboard boxes, I decided I would pack up everything in my room that could be considered a distraction to "getting back on track" and hiding it away until I've deemed that I have bounced back from this little rut that I have gotten myself into. It sucks, because I pretty much deal in entertainment, so just about everything I own is something that could be considered a distraction. This sucks.

I found myself getting to bed around 3am Thur and waking up around 7:30pm. That's right, I slept the ENTIRE day off the calendar. I did go to Mark's with Sebastian though and organize his living room a little bit. Then I went to Trevor's and played two rounds of GTAIV. But fuck all that.

Here's a text conversation between Mook and I:

Mook: Vid wen? 9:00 PM
Me: I just need help getting motivated 9:01 PM
Mook: I c! U act like u dnt wanna do it. Jus doing a video should motivate u if that's wat u wanna do. I mean I cnt make u I'm jus showing u some love 9:03 PM

He's right you know. Something is really wrong with me. I think I hate cold weather and I'm starting to become increasingly lazy. Why!? Why fuck why!?

Living in Auburn is killing me. I should have stayed in New York. I fucking hate this place. Coming back made me realize why I hated it here in the first place! I can't seem to GET ANYTHING FUCKING DONE.

I lost Kelsey's cat. That was the single worst experience of recent memory. It was very cold that night and tensions ran high between Kelsey and I because she was not convinced I cared about her cat because I wasn't showing any real emotions. My Dad has said the same thing of me growing up. He thinks my attitude towards authority figures (such as himself) get little to no displays of affection or reverence.

I don't really know what I'm the best at because in high school every academic class was blown off completely. I like computers and cameras. Should I take up programming? How much math does that really involve? Blog, oh blog, bring these answers to me.

What I'm doing right now

Right now it's 10:33 PM Wed Jan 2010. I'm watching District 9 with Grace, John, Stennett, Mark, Mark and Malcolm on Mark's really big television. It's awesome. The only thing that would make this experience better is some surround sound system or something.

I didn't blog yesterday but I plan on making it all up to John David by posting a really long entry tonight when I get home.

Awesome.

An exercise in blogging

And so begins my two week journey into the world of personal online journalism. This journalism, called "blogging", is a way for me to type of bunch of words, and with the help of the internet, display them on a webpage for people to read as I update it wherever the internet is made available.

Let's get things started off right. My name is Benjamin Scarborough. I am 20 years old and I currently reside in a college town called Auburn in Alabama. My parents moved here shortly after my youngest brother was born and I entered Auburn City Schools just in time for the second grade to start. Two years have passed since high school and my academic career is uncertain. I'm at a weird point in my life where I'm very lost and confused about what I want to work toward. I would like to direct films and am fully aware of my creative skills as well as technical prowess.

In the field of audio engineering, I have produced several artists and aided in the creation of various songs and audio productions.

I think I'm a nice guy.

Today started at around, oh, I don't know, midnight. I was at John David's house drinking Yuengling and taking shots of vodka. I did not go to Waffle House but instead went home and fell into one of the most memorable sleep comas of the year so far. I slept with my blinds open, so throughout the morning and day the sun filled my room with an attempt to wake me up. It failed.

Around one or two p.m. Central time I rolled over to look at my phone and already several people had "hit me up". One was Mook, who wanted me to come over and shoot a video with him today. I respectively declined as I had barely the energy to get myself out of bed. Another was Nick Smith informing me of a cookout at his house around four and I decided to go. Grace invited me to hang out with her and Malcolm at the park, but the text was at least an hour or two old so the two could be anywhere by now. I rolled over again and shut my eyes. Immediately Grace called and asked if her and Malcolm could come attempt to get me out of bed to which I said yes.

We have a new dog here at the house. He likes to bark a lot, so as Malcolm and Grace approached he began to bark and I was alerted to their presence. Three swift firm knocks came to my door as they tried to enter, but my door was locked, so I stood up, shook myself off and let them both in. They had succeeded in getting me out of bed.

Malcolm and I had cups of coffee and Grace made hot chocolate with a marshmallow. Because we had some time before we decided to go to Nick's, we watched a very enjoyable episode of the Boondocks and soon we were on our way. We picked up Sebastian. Grace left us to utilize her parent's washing machine in time for their arrival back from Mobile. She also had to read a lot of Robinson Crusoe before class tomorrow.

At Nick's apartment Nick and Mary Beth had began to prepare meat and onion/broccoli on a grill outside his door. Did I mention is was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday today? There were no classes. In attendance was my brother Patrick, Nick, Mary Beth, Tyler, Sebastian, Cameron, Mark, Amanda, Malcolm, John and Jacob. We ate all the food and played Auburnopoly and Sebastian cleaned Nick's room of all the bunny poop and someone clogged Nick's bathroom sink the fuck up and it was really funny because Mark shut the water off and took apart the pipes below the sink and carried outside the pipes to get rid of all the congestive material inside and it was all black and nasty and Mark said it was "doo doo". Anyways.

We soon went to Mark's house five deep in Nick's car to get my Xbox 360 and take it to Trevor's. He was doing his homework when we got there and I felt bad for disturbing him, but whatever. I love you Trevor. We played Halo 3 and watched a little bit of 2008's Gomorrah in HD. We switched to a Zack Galifianakis stand-up and then finally to Kazaam! I left John and Trevor to go to Waffle House by myself and paid around $12 for the most expensive thing they had. Now I feel like I want to die. But in a good way. A good dying. Like, dying in your sleep. Or dying while trying to eat pussy while underwater.
